Mycelium Sky strategy guide: controls, routes, and survival tips

Grow a living fungal network across floating islands, route water and spores, choose a symbiosis, survive rootstorms, and sustain a Skycap bloom. This guide expands on the verified controls, objective, recovery loop, and practical route choices; the game page remains the canonical place to play.

Understand the ecology objective

Connect Heart Isle to water and light, cultivate Dewbell and Sunleaf, choose a fruiting or sheltering weave, extend roots toward Fracture Garden, then repair, prune, reroute, and cleanse the network through the storm and recovery cycles.

Keep the living network connected and stable through four Standard pressure cycles, restore Fracture Garden, grow its support organisms, and sustain a Skycap bloom.

Use the verified controls

Mouse or touch: select an island, then drag between floating islands to grow root bridges; use the on-screen growth dock for organisms, symbiosis, repair, pruning, and cleansing.

Keyboard: press 1–4 to select an island; D, S, A, P, or K to grow an organism; B or Shift+B to choose a symbiosis; E repairs, Backspace/Delete prunes, X cleanses, and Space pauses.

Use Standard for the full ecology route or Quick / QA for a shorter fixture; after a win or loss, Replay verifies the action trace and Retry restarts the same seed.

Plan a resilient route

  • Connect Raincup early so its water gradient can feed Heart Isle before expanding toward Sun Shelf.
  • Fruiting produces spores quickly, while Sheltering cushions the directly bonded root; choose for the route you intend to defend.
  • A badly damaged bridge can be pruned and replaced with a direct reroute instead of spending every resource on repair.
  • During recovery, rebalance water and spores before each Sootmold cleanse, then add Puffwings before committing to Skycap.

Recover, retry, and verify the run

If Heart Isle loses all stability or stays dry too long, the ecology collapses; use Replay to verify that run or Retry same seed to restart immediately without reloading.

Ready to test the route? Play Mycelium Sky and compare the full Standard ecology with the shorter Quick / QA fixture.
