Moon Sweepers Guide: Co-op Upgrades and Save Changes

Moon Sweepers co-op guide to the Steam release, crew-wide upgrades and version 1.0.4 save changes. Check official patch notes before joining a crew.

Official listing and patch notes checked October 27, 2026. This guide explains documented features and changes; it is not a hands-on performance or multiplayer review.

Moon Sweepers is DragDrop Games' lunar cleanup game. The original Steam listing describes solo play or online co-op for up to sixteen players. The immediate thing to check before following a launch-week guide is its version: update 1.0.3 changed upgrades to a crew-wide system, and 1.0.4 changed save compatibility.

Moon Sweepers: where to get the original

The Steam listing records an October 23, 2026 release and Windows support. Its loop combines collecting lunar dust, transporting it through your operation and investing in upgrades and vehicles.

Start from that listing for the current requirements and purchase terms. We have not verified a native phone or browser edition. A Proton-related fix in a patch note does not by itself establish a native Linux release or Steam Deck certification.

Co-op upgrades: what changed in 1.0.3?

The October 24 announcement for 1.0.3 says the crew uses the host's upgrade matrix. Any member can buy an upgrade for the crew. Existing saves retain the highest previously purchased levels.

This matters when reading older advice about upgrading each player separately. Before your group spends resources, check which version that advice describes and inspect the upgrade matrix in your current session.

For organizing a session, agree who is hosting and what the next shared purchase should support: collecting more material, moving it through the system or improving another visible bottleneck. That is a planning suggestion, not a tested best-upgrade order.

The 1.0.3 announcement also required matching versions for that release. It should not be read as an instruction to remain on 1.0.3 after later updates.

Save compatibility: read this before rolling back

The 1.0.4 announcement, published October 25 in UTC, states that 1.0.4 saves cannot be opened by older versions. It also introduces up to five automatic backups per save slot.

Before changing game versions, check your current version and the notes for the version you intend to use. Do not assume an automatic backup will be readable by an older build, or that it replaces a separate copy you have verified. This guide has not tested save restoration or downgrade recovery.

The cleanup loop: inspect the whole route

The listing's collect, transport and upgrade loop suggests a useful way to discuss a crew's next task: trace one load of material from collection to its destination. Ask where it waits, which machine or vehicle handles the next step and whether a change helps the whole operation.

The 1.0.4 notes say J.O.O.N.A.S. can continue cleaning without a nearby player and sends capsules to the nearest collector. They also describe map improvements and reworked multiplayer ground synchronization. These are developer-reported changes; they do not prove that every stuck sector or synchronization problem is fixed.

If something behaves differently, record the version, whether you are host or guest and the smallest sequence that reproduces it. A clear example is more useful than assuming every issue has the same cause.

Can OpenGame offer a similar cleanup game?

A small original browser project could focus on one satisfying loop: collect scattered material, deliver it to a depot and choose an upgrade. A new setting, original art and a separate name would let that prototype develop its own identity.

That project has not been built here, and this page does not provide a Moon Sweepers remake. You can browse existing OpenGame browser games or read our AI browser-game creation walkthrough. To develop your own cleanup idea, start a project in OpenGame Studio.

Source note

The game identity, platform and broad loop come from the Moon Sweepers Steam listing. Upgrade behavior is attributed to the developer's 1.0.3 notes; save compatibility and the other stated fixes come from 1.0.4. Dates refer to the announcements, not a claim that no later update exists. No original game code or assets are reproduced here.
